OxonJam County Camp Details

16 January 2017

Plans are in place for a County Camp over the second May bank holiday weekend at Blenheim Palace; all Sections and all Groups across Oxfordshire will attend it! Thousands will be going and so could you!

The theme for the camp is Hollywood and each District has a different genre of film for their sub camp – for Oxford Spires this is Science Fiction.

The Camp will be split into four activity zones:
• Bond – ‘Are you a secret agent in the making?’ including cave bus, laser maze, bouldering wall, code breaking and climbing wall
• Indiana – ‘Challenge the adventure in you’ including axe throwing, mini tanks, archery, mini fencing and tracking
• Phantom – ‘Unleash your creative side’ including woggle wall, dance workshops, craft tent and faith zone
• Robots – ‘test your technical know how’ including scout radio, photo booth, photography, Sega mega drive, geo cache and newspaper

The weekend will be action packed and full of activities for every age range including evening entertainment.

Please note that health forms will be require for camp, these need to be completed electronically and will be sent to you from the Scout EMS system, which is the booking system County have put in place for the camp.

Cost of Camp: For Explorers, Scout & Cubs – £75.00 per person.
However, where siblings are attending at full cost, the executive committee have agreed a reduction to £65 for second and subsequent attendees.

Beavers £45.00 per person – this is a single night option, arriving on Saturday morning and going home Sunday night.

To book please return the slip on the letter with £45 (£35 for Beavers) by Friday 10th February and balance payable by Friday 28th April. Or book via OSM and pass the payment to your leader.

Please DO NOT let the cost of camp stop you attending, we will provide financial help where possible but we can only offer it on an individual basis. This could be a payment plan or reduction in fees so please speak to us. Please let your leader, or Kevin Heydon, know if the only reason you are unable to attend is the cost.

For your information, the fee is to cover camp fees, activities, food, transport of equipment, and fuel for generators/cooking. As the whole Group will be attending we will have a large amount of canvas and catering equipment to transport to the site so we will require a van to get there even though its just up the road.
